Terms of Service — Elsa Meeting Companion
Last updated: 17 June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Elsa Meeting Companion (the “Service”), operated by ELSA, Corp. They supplement the ELSA Terms of Service, which apply in full to your use of the Service; where these Terms are silent, the ELSA Terms of Service govern. By using the Service, you agree to both.
1. The Service
Elsa Meeting Companion joins your Zoom and Google Meet meetings, captures the meeting audio, and produces transcripts and personalized feedback to help you improve your professional speaking. The feedback is made available to you, the authenticated user.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to use the Service through your ELSA or organization account. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access it without authorization, interfering with its operation, reverse-engineering it, or using it to violate any applicable law or the rights of others. You may use the Service only for lawful, legitimate business and personal communication purposes.
4. Recording & participant consent
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to have the Service join and record any meeting you invite it to, and for obtaining any notice or consent from other participants that is required by applicable law in your jurisdiction. You agree to comply with all applicable recording, wiretapping, privacy, and data-protection laws. ELSA is not responsible for recordings made without the consents required by law.
5. Third-party integrations
The Service integrates with Google and Zoom. When you connect either provider, your use of that integration is also subject to the provider’s own terms and policies. This section is split into two parts — 5A · Google and 5B · Zoom — followed by shared rules that apply to both.
5A. Google integration
When you connect Google (Calendar, Google Meet), your use of the integration is also subject to the Google Terms of Service and the Google API Services User Data Policy. The Service requests only read-only Google scopes — the full list is disclosed in the Google section of our Privacy Policy. You may revoke the Service’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
5B. Zoom integration
When you connect Zoom — either individually via the user-managed app or via an admin-managed workspace install — your use of the integration is also subject to the Zoom Terms of Service and Zoom’s Marketplace developer policies. The Service requests a least-privilege scope set covering meetings, participants, cloud recordings, and basic profile — mostly read-only, with two limited write scopes used only to attach the Meeting Companion bot to your call or to start cloud recording when needed. The complete scope list, and how each scope is used, is disclosed in the Zoom section of our Privacy Policy. You may revoke the Service’s access at any time from the Zoom Marketplace » Installed Apps page; under a workspace install, individual users may also request an organization-level disconnect through their admin.
Across both providers, the Service is granted only the least-privilege scopes strictly required to deliver the speaking-improvement feature described in Section 1 — read-only for Google, and read-only for Zoom apart from two narrow write scopes (bot attach and in-meeting recording controls) documented in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to connect the provider account you use with the Service.
6. Intellectual property
ELSA and its licensors own all rights in the Service, including its software, content, and trademarks. You retain ownership of your meeting content; you grant ELSA the limited rights necessary to operate and provide the Service to you. Treatment of feedback you submit to ELSA is governed by the ELSA Terms of Service.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of transcripts or feedback, or uninterrupted availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ELSA will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and ELSA’s total liability is limited as set out in the ELSA Terms of Service.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, and disputes are subject to the courts located in San Francisco, California, as further described in the ELSA Terms of Service.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
