ELSA School makes it easy for teachers to monitor performance of students across different assignments.
Is ELSA Schools the same as ELSA Speak?
ELSA School doesn’t use the Speak App (available through the Android and iOS App Stores). Instead, learners interact with ELSA’s service through a web-based Student App (which is specifically designed for students & classroom learning).
How does ELSA Schools differ from ELSA Business?
ELSA School is built to adapt to the constantly evolving lessons in the classroom. It supports schools in delivering their existing curriculum while helping students develop clear and effective communication skills. In contrast, ELSA Business is designed for working adults, university students, and professionals, offering more advanced scenarios and workplace-focused content.
Is ELSA Schools suitable for University students?
ELSA School is designed specifically for K–12 education, with an interface and learning experience tailored to younger learners and classroom-based instruction. For University students, ELSA Business is a better fit, as it supports more advanced learning scenarios and complex language use aligned with academic and professional contexts.
What devices do students need to use ELSA Schools?
Students can access ELSA School through a web browser on mobile devices and computers. It is not available as a mobile application.
Can ELSA Business integrate with our existing LMS or HR systems?
Yes. ELSA Business integrates with existing systems through API connections or Single Sign-On (SSO). We can connect with most LMS and HR platforms to automate user enrolment and data sharing.
Is there a Help Center or Support Portal for Learners and Admins?
Yes. Business, Schools and API users have their own dedicated Help Centers.

It delivers personalized learning paths, automatically generated from individual and organizational needs, as well as on-demand content, including a 600+ lesson library, custom materials, and an AI content generator. All training is designed to build practical, real-world workplace communication skills.
What devices and platforms does ELSA Business support?
The platform is fully supported on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as via web browser for B2B customers.

Can we customize the experience through our own company content?
Yes. ELSA Business integrates your website content and other company specific information, including product information, custom industry terminology, or any other documents that you want to make available, into personalized learning paths.
How do the personalized learning paths work?
There are two ways to create personalized learning paths.
Learners can set up their own learning goals based on their role, native language, english proficiency, and more, thereby creating a personalized learning path. Alternatively, Admins can assign specific industry and job-function related goals to different teams.
In addition, ELSA Business enables company-based personalisation to allow your teams to simulate real-world work scenarios custom to your company.
Is white-labeling available?
White-labeling is available for large-scale deployments. We can customize the logo and certain branding elements in the app and dashboard. Requirements and availability depend on your license volume and specific needs.

Is there a free trial or pilot program available?
Yes. Depending on your needed licenses volume, you may request one of the following trial types:
Team Plan: A 14-day free trial is available for 2-49 users. Admin users can cancel their trial directly within the app within 14-days trial term.
Business Plan: For higher-tier plans (50+ licenses), we offer customized trial and pilot programs. Contact us for more information.
How long are licenses valid?
Licenses are sold on an annual subscription basis. You can deactivate users who leave your organization and reassign those licenses to new employees at any time during your active subscription term.

Yes. The ELSA Proficiency Score (EPS) is our internal metric that measures speaking performance across five key areas: Pronunciation, Intonation, Fluency, Grammar, and Vocabulary.
The EPS is directly correlated and mapped to the international standard CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), as well as IELTS speaking bands. We also indirectly map scores to other tests such as TOEIC, EIKEN, and GEPT.
How do we measure ROI?
ELSA Business tracks measurable improvements including English proficiency scores, time saved on manual feedback and assessment, and employee confidence in English communication. The EPS is directly correlated and mapped to the international standard CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), as well as IELTS speaking bands. What reporting is available?
The dashboard includes engagement metrics, time spent practicing, skill improvement (benchmarked against CEFR) across pronunciation, fluency, grammar, intonation and vocabulary, and individual and team performance data. You can filter reports by team, time period, and other specific metrics. You can also export custom reports.

Can teachers create their own content?
Yes, teachers can create lessons in ELSA School in two ways using the Content Creator. They can build study sets or read-aloud exercises based on materials from their existing textbooks, or go beyond the textbook by using AI to generate new, original learning materials simply by providing a prompt. The interactive pronunciation lessons are then delivered as Assignments to the Student App where the students practice lesson material.
What languages are supported for instructions?
ELSA supports multiple display languages, so students can see instructions in their native language while learning English. This is particularly helpful for beginner-level students who may not be comfortable with English-only interfaces.
Progress Tracking & Assessments
How do teachers track student progress?
Teachers have access to a comprehensive dashboard where they can view individual student performance, class-level insights, assignment completion rates, and detailed progress reports. The dashboard shows pronunciation scores, time spent practicing, skill development across different areas, and engagement metrics.
Can parents see their child's progress?
Yes, parents can be given access to the dashboard with view-only permissions. They can see their child's learning progress, time spent practicing, and skill development, but cannot access other students' information.

Setup & Administration
How and when do I assign learners to the license?
After purchasing licenses and setting up your organization in the ELSA School Admin Dashboard, you activate licenses by inviting teachers and students via email through the dashboard. Unassigned licenses auto-activate two weeks after purchase. Though you can still assign them later, the subscription period starts on the auto-activation date. Assigning licenses beyond two weeks will reduce the learner's total study time.

What is the minimum number of licenses required for ELSA Schools?
The minimum package for ELSA School is 50 student licenses. This includes unlimited admin and teacher accounts, so only student accounts count toward the license total.
Is there a trial period available for ELSA Schools?
Yes, we offer trial periods for schools to test the platform. Typically, we provide 5-10 trial accounts for 14 days so teachers and select students can experience the full functionality before making a purchase decision.
What is the minimum number of licenses required for ELSA Schools?
Contracts require a minimum commitment of 12 months.
What payment options are available for ELSA Schools?
Payment methods for 50 licenses or more, include bank transfer and PayPal. Please contact our Sales Team through the contact form to learn more.
What is the cancellation period for ELSA Schools?
Contract cancellation requires a minimum of 30 days' notice prior to the contract expiry date. The plan will not be renewed, and you will not be billed for the subsequent licensing period. However, access to the ELSA's School Admin Dashboard and the existing licenses will remain available until the conclusion of the current subscription period.
